Who we are

Laadio is made by Thaayakam LTD, 21 Strafford Avenue, Clayhall, Ilford IG5 0TJ, United Kingdom (Companies House 12875849 (England and Wales)). Privacy questions: [email protected].

In short

Laadio has no account, no ads and no analytics or tracking services. We don't sell data. We only use what is needed to show you chargers and prices.

What stays on your phone

Your favourite chargers, charge cards, car, settings and alerts are stored on your phone only. Delete the app and they are gone.

Your location

If you allow location, the app uses it to show chargers nearby. The app then sends the map area or coordinates to our server to fetch chargers. We don't link them to an account or a name and we don't keep them, except briefly in server logs (see below). The app also works without location: search by address instead.

Trip planner

To plan a route, the app sends your start, destination, chosen car and battery level to our server. We calculate the route and don't keep the request.

Reports about a charger

If you report a problem (for example ‘broken’), we receive the charger, the kind of report, your optional note and a random code the app creates on your phone. That code doesn't say who you are; we only use it to recognise duplicate reports. We keep reports for at most 12 months.

Maps and addresses

Map tiles and address search come from MapTiler AG (Switzerland). They receive your IP address, the map area and your search text. Switzerland has an adequate level of protection according to the EU. See MapTiler's privacy policy.

Navigation

When you tap ‘Navigate’, Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps opens with the charger's address. That app's privacy policy applies.

Server logs

Our server, at a hosting company in the EU, keeps technical logs: IP address, time and the requested address (which can contain a map area). We use them only for security and fixing errors, and delete them after at most 14 days.

This website

The website uses no cookies and no analytics, and loads no fonts or scripts from other parties.

The map on the website fetches chargers from our own server (see server logs). Map tiles and address search come from MapTiler AG (Switzerland); MapTiler receives your IP address, the map area and your search text. ‘Use my location’ only asks your browser for your location when you click it; we only use it to move the map.

If you sign up for launch news, we keep your email address and language. We send you one email when Laadio is available and then delete your address, or sooner if you ask.

Legal basis

We process data to provide the service you use (legitimate interest), and with your consent for location and the sign-up list. You can withdraw consent at any time: turn location off on your phone, or email us.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, have it deleted or object. Email [email protected]; we reply within a month. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

If anything changes in how we handle data, we update this policy and the date below.
